02/02/2010 15:57:34

All-Euroleague center Tiago Splitter of Caja Laboral will be sidelined for two weeks due to an ankle injury, the club announced Monday. Splitter suffered the injury midway through a Spanish League game against Meridiano Alicante on Sunday. He left the game was not able to help his team in the second half. Further research confirmed a bone bruise in his left ankle and Laboral has opted for conservative treatment. Accordingly, Splitter will miss his team's next two Euroleague games against Cibona and BC Khimki Moscow Region, but should be back to help Laboral in the upcoming Spanish King's Cup final eight in mid-February. Splitter, an All-Euroleague second team selection last season and first team in 2008, has averaged 13.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2 assists in 11 Euroleague games this season. Splitter was one of the five players - along with Carl English, Mirza Teletovic, Pau Ribas and Fernando San Emeterio – to take part in all their team’s Euroleague games so far this season.
